Located in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province, Minneriya National Park was officially designated as a national park on August 12, 1997, after initially being declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The park was established to safeguard the Minneriya Tank’s catchment area and protect the surrounding wildlife. Sri Lanka is renowned for its traditional black tea production, where tea cultivators and manufacturers continue to uphold the orthodox method of production.
